I am preparing my 79 YZ250 for vintage racing and need the
technical info on the rear suspension and monoshock. I am trying to locate a FOX monoshock
and don't want to get the wrong one so I need the dimensions. If you could email me the
section containing the suspension info, it would be greatly appreciated.
Checking in our 79 FOX catalog we found out that
FOX made a version of the Monoshock for the 77/78 YZ and the 79 YZ. FOX also made an 11
inch and 12 inch travel version of each shock. The 12 inch versions fit a stock bike but
made it turn quicker since the rear of the bike was slightly higher. For reference the
following were the FOX part numbers for each version. The part number may be stamped into
the body of the shock.
