BasketCase 500News Update 1
Scott Anderson, from Texas, is the first entry in the 2002 Basketcase 500 contest. Scott’s entry is a truly beaten up Suzuki TM250. Scott bought the bike off of an EBay seller in Oklahoma. After driving eight hours Scott discovered the bike was in much worse condition than previously reported.  Scott discovered the front forks were severely pitted with rust, the rear shocks were frozen solid with rust and the pipe was really torn up. Scott wisely made the decision the bike had been misrepresented and the price agreed to was clearly not appropriate. After the seller agreed to a 100 dollar take it or leave it, Scott headed home to start his project.

Scott developed a budget for rebuilding the bike that will bring his total expenditures in under 500 dollars. Scott has also reported that he has been successful in getting the engine running and is confident his budget is accurate.

The following are some of the pictures Scott sent in with his entry. Take a look. We think Scott has lots of work to do but he sound confident.
